student choreograpy
Catherine Messina has created student work for recitals, winter showcases, competitions, summer intensives, and spring recitals. Due to Covid-19, she became experienced with creating work for online platforms and outdoor performances. She has taught at studios around the Atlanta area for four years, and ran a residency in Lambertville, NJ where she created two works in two weeks.
Her speciality includes an Intro to Floorwork class, where she teaches students how to get in and out of the floor safely, getting them ready for the contemporary field ahead of them.

At The Neighborhood Ballet, Catherine Messina ran the Contemporary Modern program, deeply connecting the local students to the Atlanta community at large, and the diverse world of Modern Dance - organizing Master Classes, guest choreographers, and a week long summer intensive.

She has also guest taught at Emory University and Immerse ATL, and was invited to set a piece on the Covington School of Ballet.
